Welhossa Privacy Policy for PawsGuardian
This privacy policy is for Welhossa. Welhossa is the registered brand that operates PawsGuardian at www.pawsguardian.app. It applies to everyone who uses PawsGuardian, including owners and finders, in every U.S. state. PawsGuardian is built so a stranger with a camera cannot map nearby animals, names, or homes. Matching happens against registered IDs on the server. The owner is asked first. Exact GPS is never shown to a finder.
Who this Welhossa policy belongs to
Welhossa is the registered brand that operates PawsGuardian. This privacy policy is Welhossa’s policy for PawsGuardian. Contact: support@pawsguardian.app.
We do not sell or share personal information
Welhossa does not sell or share your personal information. That includes “sale” and “sharing” as those words are used under California law (no sale of personal information, and no sharing for cross-context targeted advertising). We do not use your data for ads. We do not buy marketing lists. We do not run third-party advertising pixels.
Children under 13
PawsGuardian is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA). Owner accounts and private chat require you to attest that you are 18 or older.
Age attestation
When you create an owner account, Welhossa records that you confirmed you are 18 or older, along with the time of that confirmation. Finders who use private chat confirm the same on their device. This is used only to keep accounts and chat limited to adults.
What we collect, why, and how long we keep it
We collect only what we need to register a pet ID, confirm an account, match a found photo to a lost pet, and let an owner and a finder talk after the owner says yes. We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, crash reporters, or other advertising or product-analytics SDKs.
- Account details. Email (required), first and last name, optional phone, optional home address and ZIP, password hash, and email-confirmation status. Purpose: create and secure the household account, send confirmation codes and Lost Mode notices, and register pets. Each account also has a support number (PG- followed by eight letters and digits) shown in Settings. Kept until the account is closed. Closed accounts can be restored from the operator desk if you email support@pawsguardian.app with that number.
- Age attestation. The 18+ confirmation and the time it was given. Purpose: keep accounts and private chat limited to adults. Kept with the account until deletion.
- Pet ID records. Pet name, species, breed, color, size, sex, markings, optional microchip, ID photos, ZIP, Lost Mode status, and last-seen area (ZIP and, if you pin it, coordinates that stay owner-only). Purpose: identify your pet and match finder photos. Kept until you delete the pet or the account.
- Finder reports. A found photo, notes, species/color, approximate last-seen area (about 300 feet), ZIP, and an anonymous finder ID stored on that device. Purpose: try to match a lost pet. Unmatched photos may be re-checked for up to 7 days if an owner later turns on Lost Mode. Kept until the report is cleared, no longer needed for a reunion, or you ask us to delete it.
- Chat. Anonymous messages and optional photos after an owner confirms a match. Purpose: help a reunion. Either person can leave. Kept until the thread is cleared or the related account is deleted.
- Device and security snapshots. Approximate IP, browser/user-agent, a device label, signup and login times, and (for finders) a random finder ID on the phone. Purpose: secure the account and stop abuse. Not shown to finders. Kept with the account or until the finder data is deleted.
- Lock-screen push. If you enable alerts, a push subscription for that browser or Home Screen icon. Purpose: notify you of a match. Kept until you turn alerts off, clear site data, or delete the account.
- Payment (when checkout is on). Each unique pet ID is a one-time $5 USD lifetime fee, charged by Stripe. Finder tools stay free. We store that the ID was paid and a time stamp. Stripe processes the card. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe may keep payment records as the law requires. If checkout is not enabled, no card is charged.
Hosting and email logs (for example on Vercel or Resend) may briefly include an IP or message metadata so the site can run. Photo matching may send a pet or found photo to our vision provider (Claude) only to compare appearance. Those providers are not allowed to use your data for their own ads.
Not shown to finders by PawsGuardian
PawsGuardian does not show finders your exact pin, home address, legal name, phone, email, IP address, device details, microchip full number, or other pets on the account.
Shared with a finder only after the owner says yes
After the owner confirms, PawsGuardian shares the found photo, a 300-foot last-seen area, and an anonymous chat either person can leave.
Phone numbers and messages
PawsGuardian does not send text messages. Account codes and Lost Mode alerts are email (and optional lock-screen push). An optional phone number may be stored on the account. Welhossa does not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Welhossa does not ask finders for a phone number. See the Welhossa Terms.
Your rights
Wherever you live in the United States, you may ask Welhossa to: access the personal information we have about you; correct it; delete it; and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will honor an opt-out request. You may also ask us to limit use of sensitive information (such as precise last-seen coordinates) to providing the service. If we decline a request, you may appeal by emailing us again and writing “privacy appeal.” You will not be charged or denied the service for exercising these rights. An authorized agent may email us on your behalf if you tell us they may do so.
How to make a request: email support@pawsguardian.app from the address on your account (or tell us enough to find the account). Write what you want: access, correction, deletion, or opt-out. We will verify it is you and respond within 45 days (or tell you if we need more time, as the law allows).
How to delete your account and data
Signed-in owners can close the account in Settings by tapping Delete account twice. Login stops and Lost Mode turns off. Pets stay on file so support can restore the account if you email support@pawsguardian.app with the account number from Settings. You can also ask us to delete the account and data. Finders can clear reports and chats on the device and can email the same address to ask us to delete finder data we still hold. Payment records that the law requires Stripe to keep may remain with Stripe.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material, we will also note it on www.pawsguardian.app. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the updated policy.
